Manvir Kadar, CO Ms. Kadar joined the Staff of Orthoptists at the University of Michigan in 2009.

Specialty Interests
Orthoptic evaluation and management of pediatric and adult patients with strabismus and amblyopia.

Ida L. Iacobucci, CO Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences

Miss Iacobucci passed away June 1st 2017. She had been in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences for 50 years. Her work in orthoptics relative to amblyopia treatment and pre-operative and post-operative non-surgical treatment will live on.  She will continue to be known for her work directly with orthoptic students and residents on clinical practices and diagnostic techniques.

                               Evaluation and management of strabismus in children and adults, including pre- and post-operative                                                management and non-surgical treatment; management of amblyopia and accommodative esotropia;                                              convergence therapy for convergence insufficiency

Katie Patterson, CO Ms. Patterson did her training at the University, graduating in 2016. She returned to the Kellogg Eye Center in 2018.

Angela Dillon, CO Ms. Dillon did her training at the University of Michigan, graduating 2015. She then worked at Houston Eye Associates for several years, returning to the University of Michigan Medicine in 2021.

Emily Rouse, CO Emily Rouse did her studies at University of Iowa, graduating in 2021. She joined our team of Orthoptists after completing her training and becoming certified.

Bruce A. Furr, MPH, CO, PhD Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences

Dr. Furr is the program director for the University of Michigan Orthoptic Training Program, a position he assumed in 1999. He is a graduate of the University of Iowa Orthoptic Program, having studied with Susan Stewart-Havertape, Pamela Kutschke, and Wanda Pfeifer-Ottar. In addition to his role as program director, he is very active in the work of the American Association of Certified Orthoptists. Dr. Furr is the Past-President of the American Association of Certified Orthoptists, is on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Binocular Vision and Ocular Motility, and holds memberships in various public health organizations.

                                   The diagnosis and treatment of amblyopia; diagnostic testing to aid in the treatment of strabismus
                                                                 disorders.
